hi, i’m tamara niedermann! i’m a central florida doula, community herbalist, a certified fertility awareness educator, and certified holistic reproductive and sexual health educator.
through the kindred feminine, i get to be a witness and student of the reproductive cycle, fertility, our bodies, and birth, and it’s an honor to be invited into your story.
i became a doula in 2016 when my sister started her family and i was shown new perspectives on birth and pregnancy. i was learned that doulas, and midwives, and placentas, and breastfeeding, and herbal baths, and ritual are all a beautiful and sacred part of reproductive health, pregnancy, and birth.
while building the kindred feminine, formerly tamara the birth doula, i realized that we’re longing for a more intentional way of caring for ourselves and the world around us failed to educate us on the basic functions of our bodies. i was connecting with people well into their pregnancies, maybe on their second or third pregnancies, who couldn’t name their own anatomy. through no fault of their own. so, i knew that i needed to expand the wisdom i hold in order to really make a difference in the lives of those i serve.
with that in mind and knowing i wanted to build a safe place and comfort and community for the people who found me, in july of 2019 i rebranded into the kindred feminine. a community built on the divine feminine that is often overlooked, or ignored, or destroyed. since then, a deep passion has grown from within me to teach others this new way to know our bodies, experience our menstrual cycles, and conceive and birth our babies.
i’m a bisexual cis woman of color who uses the pronouns she, hers, and her. i’m in my thirties, married, and have two cats. i’m the daughter of an immigrant single mother. i acknowledge that Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) have much worse reproductive outcomes than their white counterparts. i’m an advocate for folks from menarche to menopause no matter their race, sexuality, gender, or size. grace and peace and many blessings on you!
